"Nobody can have everything. No one can do everything. Nobody can please everybody."

The demands others put on you to get their needs met take away from what your plans are to get things done for yourself. All my children are adults and have children of their own. What I remember most about going to work in the corporate world was finding it hard to please everyone and difficult to do everything  that others demands of you to do.

When the day ends and I haven't finished all the tasks given to me I would worry. Ask myself  why couldn't I get everything done. Later it dawn on me that I have not plan how to use my time effectively.

Time is valuable and wasted time is never recovered. The bible tells us to redeem our time. Ephesians 5:16

Since I started working for myself. I have it easy working at home. Don't get me wrong I do get unexpected phone calls some drop by, but I am able to prioritize my work schedule and deal  with some interruption. "If things were different, I would post a schedule of my working time and non-working time on the outside door to my office and then close the door and stick to that schedule." This way my family members would know that I do not want to be interrupted.

If you are someone that work at home for a living, it is important to plan out your day. Make a list of  first prioritiy things first. You will need a system in place to get the job done. List of things to be done in order and of  importance. These are just a few things you might begin to look for as you plan your day on how to save time and get things done. DON'T WORRY GET ORGANIZED and personalized.

Amazing we are in day seven of 2010. Uhmmm...2010 it sound so far away and yet we're already here. If that makes any sense. I'm still trying to focus on getting the thought that we're in year 2010 and how to write this on my checks, mail  I send out. I don't know if I want to use 0010, 010, 2010, I'm almost positive that to shorten it 010 would be the appropriate way to write on my checks. Well that's just one of the many things I have to adjust to.

The other is my social network connections. I can vaguely remember real people in my life anymore. Wait a minute, Dah... they are all real I need a reality check. I have to many connections, lets see there's facebook, linkedin,myspace,You-tube,ojeez,blogspot,twitter,stumbleupon, blogsphere, and the list goes on and on, I have about 20 network connections, and it takes me all day just to get through the content.

I spend so much time reading and deleting email, I never get around to  bringing my friends up to date on my life, it would take the rest of my life probably. My online socializing has got to stop, all this socializing I'm spending to much time socializing it all done from the seclusion of my office chair.  I'm still very popular though.

The other day I had a malfunction with my computer, it wouldn't come on, screen black, no power. I couldn't imagine what was wrong. It was fine the day before. I finally decided to just unplug everything and start from scatch. I saw that all the cords were tangled up, I tried to striagthen them out. Nothing was working and I couldn't tell what was what.  Phone cord, computer cord, headset cord, adding machine cord, camera cord printer cord....after carefully positioning the cords and untangling them. I started to re-connect everything, there were so many  cords. It took me hours to get every cords untangled and put back in place.  By the time I finished connecting all the cords back, I realized I have to many things  complicating my life I need to unplug some of my connections.

By now you're already judging me that I just sit on my but, and do nothing but socialize with my facebook friends. Oh I forgot I am not writing about my life. I didn't mean to say it that way. I need to stick to my thought here. Like when I can only use 140 characters but not all in caps. Because writing in caps means that you are yelling and mad, and I made a promise to myself that  I wouldn't do that anymore.

Once I got this message from my friend that my choice of  words didn't set well with her,I was not setting anything with her,I don't know where she was setting. Any way!

When I think about what she said , it made me angry, but not excited. A sobering reality in today's communcation is that the greatest burden and basis for breakdown in effective communication, rests with the communicator. You know how you can really look forward to seeing some people and others make you sort of wilt? Some people drain you and others lift you. Some can see the negative in things whereas others can see what is positive.

I have more friends than ever now, only instead of seeing them I poke them on facebook and follow them on Twitter and that actual make me feel up to date on their lives.

Most people are pretty problem focused for the most part we seem to be able to see what is wrong more than what is right. We criticise more than we praise. I don't comment about my friends post because you can only write a 140 characters my content would exceed the limit, so I just read what they have to say.

I recently installed some new software from my ISP, but it seemed to have bugs and felt clunky. I called their tech support line to sort out the first big problem and got it resolved. Then within minutes another problem emerged, this one kind of minor, than the other. To make things complicated the tech support was located in a far away country and  spoke with a dilect that made it difficult for me to understand what he was telling me to do to fixed the problem.  I was tempted to give up and live with the minior problem since there was so much else I wanted to get done.

I felt I really did not have the time to deal with this, I had a backlog several hundred emails at the time to sort through. I must have called them six times for different issues over a two day span and got them sorted out as much as possible. It felt great that I didn't let the problems make me give up on getting what I needed done. Even at the expense of the extra time taken. In the end I decided that the new software was not an improvement for me and went back to my old. And I did it with the confidence that I had given it a good shot, and got the best help available to try to make it work. So what the heck the experiment lasted only two days and I've since moved on without looking back and managed to avoid feeling anger by channelling my frustration into action and being very clear to myself that we don't have to let life issues complicate our lives.

"It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself." (author Waldo Emerson)
